What is "Hand Bombing" ?

Hand bombing, in the context of logistics and materials handling, refers to the manual process of loading or unloading items from a container using human labour instead of mechanical equipment like forklifts or conveyors. At Eclipse Advantage, we mostly load and unload (but are not limited to) containers and trailers. This labour-intensive method - also referred to as lumping - often involves a team of workers physically lifting and carrying goods, often in boxes or packages. They are then palletized in specific patterns supplied by the client. Hand bombing is typically employed when equipment is not available or suitable for the task, or when dealing with irregularly shaped or fragile items that require careful handling.
